Leadership transition: Maarit Patrick appointed CEO
As Ozgene celebrated its 25th anniversary last week, CEO Frank Koentgen reflected on the company’s remarkable journey:
“From our beginnings as a family business in 1999, we have grown into a global leader, achieving significant milestones such as opening our Indianapolis facility in 2019, supporting the Cayman Islands’ COVID-19 diagnostic lab, and assuming operations of the ARC in 2023.”
Now, we are thrilled to announce a new chapter for Ozgene. Dr. Frank Koentgen, Ozgene’s founder, has stepped down as CEO of Ozgene and Ozgene ARC to focus on expanding the company’s global impact. Frank will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board and as an advisor, ensuring a seamless transition and ongoing support.
Taking the reins as our new CEO is Maarit Patrick, who has been an integral part of Ozgene for 21 years. Most recently serving as Chief Transformation Officer, Maarit has demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to our vision: “to advance humanity – inspire curiosity.” Her journey with Ozgene, along with her passion for continuous improvement, makes her the ideal person to lead us forward.
“I am humbled to accept the role of CEO at Ozgene and Ozgene ARC. My heartfelt thanks to Frank Koentgen, Joanne Deys, and their families for trusting me to carry forward their family business.”
Maarit shared.
At Ozgene, we remain committed to our vision, and under Maarit’s leadership, we are confident in a bright and impactful future. Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey. Here’s to advancing humanity, inspiring curiosity, and building on our legacy for years to come.
